2. Waterproof outer tent and breathable inner tent are two essential points for high-quality tents. External tent: The most common external tent coating is PU coating, whose thickness and technology determine the waterproofing of the fabric, and the coating thickness is expressed in millimeters. The PU800 coating indicates that it does not leak under a static water column of 800mm. PU800 coating can prevent light to moderate rain; The coating of PU1000-1200 can prevent moderate to heavy rain; Coatings exceeding 1500mm can be used in various environments. In addition to PU coatings, foreign textile companies have also developed many new high-performance coatings. These coatings have strong waterproof and breathable properties, and are known as "breathable fabrics". In reality, tents use PE material with double-sided waterproof film, including a large number of export tents that use this material.
